Introduction

B.A. (Toronto) LL.B. (Wales). David was admitted as a solicitor in October 1983. He worked as a trainee and assistant solicitor for Phillips and Buck in Cardiff before moving to Newport and becoming a partner in Gartside, Harding and Davies. He practised civil litigation dealing mostly with legal aid cases in personal injury and housing law. He was vice-chairman of the Trainee Solicitors' Group and served on the national committees of the Young Solicitors' Group and the Legal Aid Practitioners' Group. He was chairman of the management committee of Newport CAB from 1992 - 1997 and chairman of the Confederation of South Wales Law Societies from 2003 - 2006 . In July 2006 he was elected as a member of the Law Society's council, representing the South Wales constituency. He is also a member of the management committee of Cardiff Law Centre.

David is the course leader for the compulsory course in Litigation and Advocacy and for the elective course in Housing Law
