Freedom of Religion in English Law

On 9 January 2008, Professor Mark Hill presented a paper on 'Freedom of Religion in English Law' to a staff seminar on Religion and Law convened at Lambeth Palace to help the Church of England explore the issues involved in Muslim, Jewish and Christian approaches to religious legal systems. The other speakers were Dr Maleiha Malik of King's College, London who is an expert in Islamic law and Muslim affairs, together with barrister Jonathan Arkush of the Jewish Board of Deputies who gave a
presentation on Halachah. The event was convened by Malcolm Brown, Director of the Mission and Public Affairs Division of the Archbishops' Council of the Church of England, and amongst the invited participants was Professor Norman Doe, Director of the Centre for Law and Religion.
