New Associate Joins Centre

May 2008

Rebecca Catto has joined the Centre for Law and Religion as an associate. Currently completing her doctoral research supervised by Professor Grace Davie of the Department of Sociology and Philosophy at the University of Exeter, Rebecca's research examines 'reverse mission', the phenomenon of non-western Christian missionaries currently working in Britain as a field of mission.

Rebecca's wider interests include religion in modern Europe, religion-State relations, globalisation and postcolonialism. She was commissioned to produce, with Grace Davie, the report on state/religion relations in Great Britain for a collection entitled State and Religion in Europe funded by the Turkish Religious Foundation Centre for Islamic Studies and has written the entry on the United Kingdom in the Encyclopaedia of Global Religion and Society edited by M. Juergensmeyer and W.Clark Roof.
